Introduction

NSNP consists of the following streams:


Skilled Worker Stream

Requirements:

  1. Have an indeterminate, full-time job offer from a Nova Scotia employer
  2. Have 1 year of work experience related to the job in the past five years (TEER category 4 or 5 applicants must already have six months’ experience with the employer)
  3. Be 21 to 55 years old
  4. Have a high school diploma
  5. Prove language ability equal to CLB Level 5 for TEER 0, 1, 2, 3 jobs and CLB 4 for TEER 4 or 5 jobs
  6. Have enough financial resources to successfully settle in Nova Scotia


Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry Stream

The Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration has temporarily paused the Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry (NSEEE) stream to NOC 62020 – food service supervisors. The following are currently not eligible:

  • Under NSEEE, work experience with NOC 62020

Requirements:

  1. Have at least 1 year of work experience occupation at TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification in Nova Scotia in the past three years
  2. Be 21 to 55 years old
  3. Have a Canadian high school credential or equivalent
  4. Prove language ability in English or French at CLB 7 for TEER categories 0 and 1 jobs or CLB5 for TEER categories 2 and 3 jobs
  5. Have a profile registered in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s Express Entry system


Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream

Requirements:

  1. Receive a Letter of Interest from the Nova Scotia Nominee Program within the Express Entry system
  2. Submit your application within 30 calendar days of the date on which your letter of interest was issued
  3. Meet the minimum work experience requirements of the Express Entry stream for which you have qualified
  4. Demonstrate sufficient funds to successfully establish yourself and your family in Nova Scotia and to pay your immigration costs and travel expenses
  5. Have legal status in your current country of residence
  6. Meet eligibility criteria in place at the time you are issued a Letter of Interest; and
  7. Have a valid Express Entry number and meet all IRCC criteria for the Express Entry pool

Criteria for the November 7, 2022, draw are as follows. Candidates MUST:

  • Have selected French as their first official language and have a Canadian Language Benchmark score of 10 or higher in French in all language abilities
  • Have English as a second official language with a Canadian Language Benchmark score of 7 or higher in English in all language abilities
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree OR have completed a program of three or more years at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute

Criteria for the Feburay 8, 2022, draw for Nurses are as follows. Candidiates MUST:

  1. Have a primary occupation of registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse (NOC 3012)
  2. Have 3 years of experience as a registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse.
  3. Have a CLB score of 9 or higher in English
  4. Hold a bachelor’s degree OR have completed a program of three or more years at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute


Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities for Physicians Stream

Requirements:

  1. Have an approved opportunity from the NSHA or IWK as either a general practitioner and family physician (NOC 31102) or a specialist physician (NOC 31100 and 31101);
  2. Provide a copy of a signed Return for Service Agreement with the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness indicating commitment to live and work in Nova Scotia for a minimum period of two years;
  3. Receive a Letter of Interest from the Nova Scotia Nominee Program within the Express Entry system;
  4. Submit your application within 30 calendar days of the date on which your Letter of Interest was issued;
  5. Meet the minimum work experience requirements of the Express Entry stream for which you have qualified;
  6. Demonstrate sufficient funds to successfully establish yourself and your family in Nova Scotia and to pay your immigration costs and travel expenses; and
  7. Have legal status in your current country of residence.


Nova Scotia Occupation in Demand Stream

Requirements:

  1. Have 1 year of work experience related to the job
  2. Be 21 to 55 years old
  3. Have a high school diploma
  4. Have the appropriate training, skills and/or accreditation for the job
  5. Prove language ability equal to CLB 4
  6. Show enough financial resources to successfully settle in nova scotia

Seven eligible occupations:

  • NOC 65200 (Food and beverage servers)
  • NOC 65201 (Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations)
  • NOC 65310 (Light duty cleaners)
  • NOC 75110 (Construction trades helpers and labourers)


The Entrepreneur Stream

Requirements:

  1. Be 21 years of age or older
  2. Want to live permanently in nova scotia while owning and actively managing a nova scotia business
  3. Have a net worth of at least $600,000 cad
  4. Be able to invest at least $150,000 cad of your own money to establish a business in nova scotia
  5. Have at least 3 years’ experience actively managing and owning a business (1/3 ownership minimum) or more than 5 years’ experience in a senior business management role
  6. Have a score of at least clb5
  7. Complete an online expression of interest
  8. Receive an invitation to apply from the nova scotia office of immigration


The International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream

Requirements:

  1. Want to live permanently in Nova Scotia while owning and actively managing a Nova Scotia business
  2. Have at least one year’s continuous experience actively managing and owning your current Nova Scotia business (33.33% ownership minimum)
  3. Have completed a degree or diploma after at least 2 academic years of full-time, in-person study at a university in Nova Scotia or the Nova Scotia Community College
  4. Have a valid post-graduation work permit
  5. Have a score of at least CLB7
  6. Complete an online Expression of Interest
  7. Receive an Invitation to Apply from the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration


The International Graduates in Demand Stream

This stream is currently open to workers in 2 NOC job categories:

  • NOC 33102: nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates
  • NOC 42202: early childhood educators and assistants

Requirements:

  1. Have a full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in a job category listed above that corresponds with your recent field of study;
  2. Be 21 to 55 years old
  3. Have a high school diploma
  4. Have met requirements for completing a course of study within three years of your application. The program must have been at least 30 weeks in length. You must have completed at least 50% of the program in Nova Scotia
    • If you are applying under NOC 33102, your program must grant a certificate, diploma, or degree
    • If you are applying under NOC 42202 your program must grant a diploma or a degree.
  5. Have certifications issued by NS regulatory bodies required for the job
  6. Prove language ability equal to CLB5
  7. Show enough financial resources to successfully settle in Nova Scotia


The Physician Stream

Requirements:

  1. General practitioners and family physicians (NOC 31102) and specialist physicians (NOC 31100 and 31101) with signed approved opportunities with the Nova Scotia Health Authority or the IWK Health Centre
  2. Be signed and dated by a person authorized to hire physicians at the NSHA or IWK
  3. Be signed and dated by the applicant who is accepting the opportunity
  4. Indicate eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of NS
  5. Indicate that the applicant is eligible to apply for privileges and credentials with NSHA and the IWK
