is Medical Exemptions for Canada Immigration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\/Medical Exemptions\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exemptions from undergoing an immigration medical examination<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The exemptions to the medical examination requirement are described in&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/regulations\/SOR-2002-227\/section-30.html\">R30(1)(<em>b<\/em>)-(<em>g<\/em>)<\/a>, which includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>a person described in paragraph 186(<em>b<\/em>) who is entering or is in Canada to carry out official duties, unless they seek to engage or continue in secondary employment in Canada;<\/li><li>a family member of a person described in paragraph 186(b), unless that family member seeks to engage or continue in employment in Canada;<\/li><li>a member of the armed forces of a country that is a designated state as defined in the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/acts\/V-2\"><em>Visiting Forces Act<\/em><\/a>, who is entering or is in Canada to carry out official duties, other than a person who has been designated as a civilian component of those armed forces, unless that member seeks to engage or continue in secondary employment in Canada;<\/li><li>a family member of a protected person, if the family member is not included in the protected person\u2019s application to remain in Canada as a permanent resident;<\/li><li>a non-accompanying family member of a foreign national who has applied for refugee protection outside Canada; and<\/li><li>a foreign national who has applied for permanent resident status and is a member of the live-in caregiver class.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0A person described in paragraph\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/regulations\/SOR-2002-227\/page-76.html\">R186(b)<\/a>, is: \u201ca foreign representative, if they are properly accredited by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and are in Canada to carry out official duties as a diplomatic agent, consular officer, representative or official of a country other than Canada, of the United Nations or any of its agencies or of any international organization of which Canada is a member.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exemptions from inadmissibility on grounds of excessive demand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As per paragraphs&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/regulations\/SOR-2002-227\/page-11.html\">R24<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/regulations\/SOR-2002-227\/page-51.html#docCont\">R117(g)<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/regulations\/SOR-2002-227\/page-59.html\">R139(4)<\/a>, excessive demand determinations under&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/acts\/I-2.5\/page-12.html\">A38(1)(c)<\/a>&nbsp;do not apply to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner<\/li><li>a dependent child (including an adopted a child) of the sponsor, or of the sponsor\u2019s spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner;<\/li><li>Convention Refugees;<\/li><li>protected persons.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Although such individuals must undertake a&nbsp;<strong>full<\/strong>&nbsp;immigration medical examination, they are not assessed for
